06-19-07: Had a good time. My friend Christian and I headed out Friday later than expected but made good time considering it was Father's Day weekend. Took a bit to find our hotel as they had no sign to say where to turn in from the road. Hell, they had no signs Period on the road. >.< Tired, we slept well into Saturday. We had enough time to see what we missed out on and buy advance tickets for Sunday. We met up with X-ian's relations and took the ol' Cheesesteak challenge. They say Geno's but, for a steak with whiz (That's right, Cheese Whiz. Liquid lard with a hint of cheese flavor. = P), I'm going with Pat's. Every other kind of Cheesesteak - American and provolone - I default to Geno's. Better service, better presentation, much cleaner despite what seems to be recent complaints due to an "Only English" policy. Set the alarm and we got up early on Sunday. Got the the convention center and we pretty much split up. I made the rounds and scoped out the place while X-ian made the rounds and got comics signed. = ) Overall, a damn fine time indeed. I met Jim Steranko and can say I almost fanboy'd the poor guy. It's hard to keep one's cool when you're meeting someone who you've only known through his comics, his imagery. I've been reading comics forever so that was a milestone moment for me. The only way to top that would be for me to meet the Man, though I doubt that will happen any time soon. I almost forgot - I bought three new games, too. River Raid, Space Invaders and Pole Position for my 7800. Nothing quite like new old games. = P The Break-Down Days Gone: 3 Cash Spent: Unknown as of yet. Comics Bought or Acquired: 30! o.o Graphic Novels/Collected Ed. With any luck, I'll survive.
